Can an instant-read thermometer should be used when making candy instead of a candy thermometer?
No. A thermometer Candy, also known as a sugar thermometer is a thermometer to measure temperature and therefore stage of a solution of sugar in the kitchen. It is similar to a meat thermometer, except that can read temperatures (typically 400 degrees Celsius or more Fahrenheit/200). As a meat thermometer, There are several types of candy thermometers available. These include traditional liquid thermometers, coil spring "tag" the thermometers and thermometers digital. Digital thermometers tend to read the temperature quickly and accurately, and some models have an alarm when the thermometer shows a temperature determined. Many models have markers for different stages of boiling sugar.
