Where is the watertight seal in a trash outlet of the strainer kitchen sink?
Is the plumber putty placed under the edge of the flange, or flat rubber washer on the underside, is pressed into the locking nut?
The seal is much like the surface tube burnt, and putty, but not necessary, caulk, sealant and smooth as Teflon paste will work. automotive seam sealer. Putty is used because it is food security. The rubber gasket is snugged under the ferrule to form a more relaxed mechanically locked in position with moving water, and vibrations that act on it to break the seal integrity.
