Most of these cleaning products are things you already have at home and in most cases do not provide a safe non-toxic alternative to bleach or cleaners ammonia-based. Note the precautions mentioned in its application. Once you start using these natural products, do not need or want to buy cleaning products more expensive.
1. Vinegar
This is probably one of the most commonly used natural, cleaner, and with so many uses, you want to fill a spray bottle to keep handy, and keep extra gallon under the sink only for cleaning. Use it like an all-purpose cleaner by mixing 1 part water to 1 part vinegar and use it to clean most areas of your home. Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes safely and effectively.
In the bathroom works well in the tub, toilet, sink, floor and countertops. Try using pure vinegar in the toilet to get rid of the rings. Works great fighting soap scum and hard water stains. For tough jobs, soak a cloth in pure vinegar and apply to the stain for an hour or so, then wipe.
In Use vinegar in the kitchen with all modern appliances, countertops, and floor. Soak cleaning brushes hardened in vinegar overnight to soften the bristles.
In the laundry, vinegar works great as a natural fabric softener, only add 1 / 2 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle instead of store bought fabric softener. It also breaks the detergent more effective, reducing soap stains. This is a real additional benefit for family members with sensitive skin.
Caution: Vinegar is an acid and if not diluted effectively can eat away at the grout in the tile. Never use on marble surfaces also.
2. Lemon Juice
Lemon juice is also used to dissolve soap scum and hard water mineral deposits. It does a great job of shining brass and copper. It works well as a disinfectant for wood cutting board. Simply cut a lemon in half and wipe on the wood. Mix lemon juice with vinegar and baking soda to make a cleaning paste. Mix 1 cup olive oil 1 / 2 cup lemon juice to make a wax for hardwood furniture.
Take a used lemon peel and put through the garbage disposal to freshen the drain.
3. Sodium bicarbonate
Baking soda works as a mild abrasive cleaner that will not damage delicate or coated surfaces. It is probably most famous for its deodorant properties – open a box and put it in the refrigerator or freezer to absorb odors. This works well in place to combat any odors including sprinkled on the carpet before you vacuum. It also gives an pleasant scent, if mixed with lavender flowers.
4. Hot Sauce
Simply rub on dulled copper, rinse with water and polish with a soft cloth.
Precautions: Be sure to keep your hands away from your eyes, and rinse the object.
5. Olive Oil
Olive oil has wonderful Re hydrating properties and great works in the dry wood (the time it was treated with an oil finish). Simply spread a thin layer of oil on wood and beige.
6. White Wine
Hide a red wine stain with white wine, and dry with a clean cloth to absorb.
7. Sal
The salt also works well to absorb the red wine (depending on what is most practical, white wine and salt). Just sprinkle on the stain, let dry and vacuum. Salt is also great for cleaning grease spills in ovens or burners. While the oven is still warm, sprinkle salt on the spill. If it has completely dried, then moisten with water before applying salt. Once the oven cools, scrape away the spill and wipe clean.
8. Cornmeal
Flour corn works well to absorb the grease. Simply fill a fresh grease stain with cornmeal, let sit for a few hours and vacuum.
9. Mayonnaise
This delicious spread can be used for more than tuna fish sandwiches. The next time you spill water on your wood furniture, leaving a mark water, apply a generous dollop of mayonnaise and let sit for several hours. Cleaned and allowed to dry.
10. Borax (sodium borate)
Borax is a natural substance that kills mold and bacteria, and makes a great alternative to bleach. It also deodorizes and detergent breaks to enhance its cleaning power. Letting old towels or gym clothes in a solution of borax and water to make lovely fresh again.
Caution: Borax can be toxic to small children and pets, keep out of reach.
