Quick CookKitchen Accessories Featuring Pampered Chef, Tupperware & Le Creuset

This delicious cookie recipe is from the heart a little (in form) entitled The cookbook recommends Bear Facts. It was published by a small company again in the 1980s. I am sure that is not already in print. They called simply CARAMEL BARS cookies. The cookies taste like a bar of chocolate and any person to share with them also love!

The ingredients are

2 cups flour
2 cups quick rolled oats
1.5 cups brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1.5 cups butter, melted
1 14 oz package Kraft caramels (or similar)
1 cup evaporated milk
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts or dry roasted peanuts.
I always use real butter, not margarine, and I prefer walnuts, but that depends on your taste.

Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, soda, salt and butter. Press 1 / 2 to 3 / 4 of the mixture in a 11 "x 16" Jelly Roll pan.Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Melt caramels with evaporated milk in a double boiler. Sprinkle chips chocolate and nuts over cooked pasta. Spread caramel mixture over chips and nuts. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture on top. Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees until golden. These will be a big hit with everyone – they taste like a candy bar!

Recipe makes 3 to 4 dozen cookies. After cooling, I like to use the smaller knife, either one made by the chef pampered, or similar to remove cookies from pan. Serve in a pretty cookie plate, plate or cake pedestal.

These cookies are wonderful at any time, but I like especially in the fall. I think that make me think Carmels apples candy that remind me of fall.
